Construction of IZODOM IZOfoundation slab

Stage 1

Ground preparation

The first step is to remove the humus layer and native soil to a depth consistent with the documentation. Then proceed to the laying of plumbing and other utilities. Once this stage is completed, a filter layer of coarse gravel or clay should be laid on the exposed load-bearing soil. Alternatively, you can make so-called lean concrete 10 cm thick.

Stage 2

Laying the formwork

The formwork elements of the IZOSlab IZODOM foundation slab are cut according to the individual design already at the production plant. On the construction site, they are laid in such a way as to obtain the given size and shape of the slabs, according to the drawing attached from the manufacturer. Curbs and corners are joined together using dovetail locks. Then the bottom elements are laid – they are connected to the curbs with hook locks. Finally, they are completed with cut elements.

Stage 3

Reinforcement

After laying the IZOSlab IZODOM insulation, reinforcement is made according to the documentation. This can be diffuse reinforcement – increasingly common now, traditional in the form of mesh and additional reinforcement for load-bearing walls or columns, or mixed assuming the use of these two solutions.

Stage 4

Concreting

The formwork is filled with concrete of the correct grade and consistency, always in accordance with the building design documents (and the concrete manufacturer’s recommendations). Freshly made concrete should always be protected from the harmful effects of the weather and properly cared for.

Stage 5

Finished foundation

After just 2 – 3 days after the start of ground work, the foundation, or more precisely the zero state of the building with insulation, is ready. IZOSlab IZODOM foundation slab is a system for building durable and well-insulated foundations, without additional formwork.
